ARARAT TREKKING

Our mountaineering adventure started 25 years ago when we asked the question of how to get rid of the harassment of the city, and we found the answer in Ararat climbing. We are a team of people who believe that Ararat has magic and tries to do what we believe.

That's why we don't market mountaineering, we just want to see among us those people who can run after the unknown, are in love with the mountains and are passionate about it.

OUR COMMENTS

  • In August 2021 I went to east Turley by car to climb Mount Ararat (Ağrı Dağı) and get to know the people there. Looking for WIFI and information about the Ararat tour I randomly stopped at Noah Camping near Doğubeyazıt, where I met friendly, lovely and hospitably people of Ararat Trekking Tours. When I reached the camp, I didn’t book any tour, but they helped me to find a place at a tour starting the next day. The staff managed everything and take me to the starting point of the tour. I joined an Armenian Group, very friendly people. The first day started at about 2000 m altitude till 3200 m. There a camp was provided with everything we needed: tents, food, beverages. The way was easy and heavy luggage was carried by horses. 2nd day was from the base camp to 4200 m altitude. The high camp was well prepared, too. Food and everything we needed was available. From this place you have a wonderful view to Little Ararat. The tour to the peak started in the night at 1 am after early breakfast. With headlights the group hiked step by step towards the peak. The local guide and staffs were very friendly and helped if problems occurred. At about 4800 m altitude when the glacier starts we used crampons. At this time the daybreak starts. After the last, short steep section we reached the peak when the sun was rising over the horizon. You’ll never can forget this moment, additional the amazing view in every direction. It is not possible to describe this moment, you have to make this experience by yourself. After an extensive photo session, the group started to went down to the high camp. There we get lunch and slept for 2 hours and went on to the base camp. There a dinner was prepared and the group had a great party and celebrated reaching the peak successfully. Next day, we went down to the busses and was brought to the city Doğubeyazıt. As an alpinist I was well prepared, so the tour was not very hard for me. But I recommend an acclimatization tour to Süphan Dağı one or two days before, this will reduce problems with the altitude (at the peak Ararat the atmospheric pressure is reduced by nearly 50 %). It is also possible to stay one day in the base camp for acclimatization. Just a few people had to deal with headache, but there were no serious problems. Whatever, the team of Ararat Trekking Tours will help you with any issues and questions regarding to the tour, management, equipment and what you should know in for this wonderful region.

  • My name is Ivan. I'm from Belarus. Went to the mountains with these cool guys last year. The main guide has been regularly on the summit since childhood and knows everything about the mountain. Only the most pleasant impressions remained! We really liked the attitude, accompaniment. We highly recommend these guys!

  • The mighty, free-standing Mt. Ararat (Ağrı Dağı) is already noticeable on the way to the Ishak Pasha Palace. It is covered with snow about halfway up and draws us magically. We are so fascinated that we spontaneously decide to scale the 5,137-meter-high peak. We met our guide Kawa by chance in the parking lot in front of the palace. In addition to the trekking agency, he and his family (mother and siblings) run a restaurant with a Luna park.
    On the restaurant terrace we get to know the whole family over a cay and discuss how to proceed. We were immediately accepted into the family and felt very comfortable right away.
    We like the flexible program and the possibility to do the tour alone with two guides. Normally this takes 3-8 days. Kawa, our guide, suggests a flexible approach. We'll see how we get on and how the weather develops.
    All equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, food, drinking water, tables, stools, cooking equipment, skis, shoes, clothes, etc. will be transported by horses throughout the tour. We are traveling with light luggage throughout the hike.
    In addition to Kawa, Resul accompanies us as cook and guide. Resul and his kitchen tent play a central role during our trip. We eat, drink tea, tell stories and discuss the past and the coming day. The food is of a very high standard throughout the tour. In his small and simple kitchen, Resul conjures up various Kurdish specialties on the table every day. There is always breakfast, a snack and dinner. Tea and mineral water are available at all times.
    The first three days are for acclimatization. We move between 3'000 and 4'000 meters above sea level and test our skis that we have rented. We're lucky the weather was outstanding in mid-May. Sunshine and little wind are ideal conditions for climbing the summit.
    The emotions are indescribable to be able to stand on this mountain, to be able to look into the distance and to be proud of one's own achievement. Skiing down to the base camp was a unique experience.
    Thank you for this experience and for allowing us to be part of your family. We will never forget you and wish you many more guests who can pass on this experience.

  • I want to thank you very much for our tour to Mt. Ararat!!! 🧡

    It was our best journey ever! I was enjoying everything:
    🧡 our best of the best guide Kawa, who is really smart, supportive and always positive;
    🧡 the cooker, who prepared for me special vegetarian, but really tasty food;
    🧡 and of cause the mountain we had an opportunity to reach!!! 😍

    Your attitude and support after the tour was also great! Thank you very much for the excursion to the Noah ark - it was very interesting!

    The hotel you booked for us in Van we also very enjoyed - the hotel provides 5 star services under low price (your company agreed for us a big discount).

    In conclusion I want to tell everyone who probably doubt:
    If you haven’t visited Ararat with „Ararat Trekking tours“, you haven’t seen the mountain at all!

    Many thanks!!!
