In August 2021, the traveler visited eastern Turkey to climb Mount Ararat and explore the region. While searching for Wi-Fi and tour information, they stopped at Noah Camping near Doğubeyazıt and met the friendly staff of Ararat Trekking Tours. Although they hadn’t booked a tour, the staff quickly arranged a spot for them on a tour starting the next day. The group, which included friendly Armenians, began their hike at 2,000 meters and camped at 3,200 meters with all supplies provided. The second day took them to 4,200 meters, where they had another well-prepared camp and a stunning view of Little Ararat. The summit attempt began at 1 am, with the group using headlamps to hike in the dark. At 4,800 meters, they used crampons to navigate the glacier. Reaching the peak at sunrise, they enjoyed the breathtaking view and celebrated with photos. After descending to the high camp for rest and lunch, they returned to the base camp, where they had a celebratory dinner. The climber, well-prepared as an alpinist, found the tour manageable but recommended acclimatizing on nearby Süphan Dağı or spending an extra day at base camp to minimize altitude sickness. The Ararat Trekking Tours team was supportive throughout the journey, helping with any issues or questions.
